Island Lifestyle

CENTER OF ACTIVITY
The community’s center of activity at the northern end of the island is known locally as "Times Square".  The Matanza sky bridge joins Fort Myers Beach with the Mainland.  Once you cross Matanza Pass Bridge, you enter a quaint shopping & dining district that encompasses a pedestrian-friendly walkway, street entertainers, and Lynn Hall & Bowditch Parks.

ISLAND DINING
Enjoy your favorite beverage on the deck of a local chickee bar on the beach or venture into one of many air-conditioned gulfside eateries for a taste of local fare. You’ll find island dining to be everything you imagined.  Stuffed grouper!  Thck & juicy steaks!  Scrumptous burgers!  Frozen Margaritas!  And because the island is well-known for its shrimping industry and shrimp fleets, shrimp & seafood are as fresh as they are abundant!

ISLAND SHOPPING
Shell shops, surf shops, unique gift boutiques and souvenir stands are located on both ends of the island and also inbetween.  There are two grocery stores, a pharmacy, Medical center, hotels, motels, condominiums, timeshares, marinas, and bike & boat rentals -- all within walking distance!
